On November 19th, Kurt and Lorie Niska along with Alton Accola and Patrice Pakiz headed for the Albert Lea performing art center to see Steve Lippia's big band concert, Simply Sinatra... a tribute to "old blue eyes."

Accola befriended Lippia and his wife Lori Anderson when he met them this past summer at the American Symphony Orchestra League conference in Nashville.

Steve Lippia was backed by a 10-piece big band that included alumni from the Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, and Tommy Dorsey orchestras. The brass section was most impressive.

Steve's tour was coordinated by Allied Concert Services, the same agency with which Five By Design will kick off the 2008-2009 season.

Paul and Cynthia Folin of Allied Concert Services were on hand to check out the last show of Lippia's tour.

The members of Five By Design are looking forward to working with the Folins in 2008. Hopefully, they can include Albert Lea as part of next season's tour.
