Over the past twenty-five years, Alton Accola has seen the growth of Five By Design as a college extra-curricular activity to one of the leading symphony pops artists in North America.
A native of Wisconsin, he has served as artistic representative of the vocal quintet since its inception. As one of the booking agents for the vocal quintet, Accola represents the group at annual conferences at the League of American Orchestras.
Since Five By Design’s debut with the Milwaukee Symphony in 1994, Accola has booked Five By Design with 188 orchestras throughout the United States and Canada. Accola also serves as the webmaster of the fivesome's website and develops promotional graphics for the company.
Accola is a former high school choral director and is a graduate of UW—Platteville. Accola was inspired to start the vocal quintet after attending a series of workshops headed by vocal jazz educator Phil Mattson.
